the leap
It was Saturday, July 5th. I had just woken up from a nap when I noticed a WhatsApp message from Aman, a close friend and former colleague.
He had sent me a link to Anoop’s post on X about open design roles at CRED, and simply encouraged me to apply.
I hesitated and replied,
“Portfolio ready nahi hai bhai 😭”
He answered,
“Portfolios will keep getting ready forever.”
“Send whatever you have.”
“Take the leap, bhai.”
Those words struck a chord. It made me question my hesitation and the perfectionism holding me back. I realized I’d been stuck, caught in the endless pursuit of a flawless portfolio before sharing it.
Still, stubborn as I was, I held on to my belief that I shouldn’t apply without a perfect portfolio. After all, a portfolio is like a chef’s signature dish — how could I serve it half-baked when it defines who I am?
My old portfolio, made in 2022, was outdated, so sharing it wasn’t an option.

The very next day, while scrolling through LinkedIn, Harish’s post about the hiring caught my eye. It was simple and clear, no fancy words or jargon, just what truly mattered. Two things stood out to me:
No need for detailed portfolios; visuals should speak, and
Even Figma files and prototypes are welcome
That was it. I decided to apply. Still, sending over Figma files or prototypes felt a bit awkward — they just don’t provide the best experience for someone unfamiliar with the flow.
So I decided to build the simplest, most honest portfolio I could — something that felt right, not perfect. And so, in 2 weeks, after office hours, I made this minimum loveable portfolio.
This, for me, is the leap taken.

The portfolio is only available on desktop or laptop!
